Rural poverty One of the main deliverables will be to ensure that we eliminate all forms of extreme poverty in our County. There should be no reason for people to live without access to at least 2 meals in a day, and possibly 3 means in a day. This is possible.
Women We can with confidence say that we have made remarkable gains on the Rights of women over the last couple of decades. This has largely been because of many champions of these rights including my own mother, who relentlessly fought for equality when it was dangerous to do so – in the late 70s and early 80s.
The Youth If there is one sector of our community that is suffering the most, it is our young. Many have succumbed to alcohol and drugs – and the trend is unlikely to stop because the fundamental challenges of access to education and employment have not been addressed.
